One thing that comes out whenever this discussion comes up is that there is a fair number of experienced people who claim the American vintage ejector guns are a problem in the reliability department. Taking them at their word, (I have only a little experience with a vintage American double with ejectors, having only 3 of them) but my experience with many modern ejector guns is that they rarely fail and never on any of my guns. I can only conclude that the American vintage ejector guns just weren't designed and executed well?
