not my biggest,a 212 9 that I suspect was his grandfather, but still very nice.Have been very fortunate with using both grunt and bleat can over the last few years,brought in a monster about 100 yards from where I shot this one couple years ago,he is in the trophy books here in NH.
Came in to a grunt call overgrown clearcut at about 60 yards,180 grains of a 06(do the rotation with the classics-mannlicher schoenauer,Mod 71,pre war mauser and a few others)ran hard at shot and then doubled back the way he came in.Looked for 2 hours-no luck,went and got neighbor for another 2 hours still no luck an snow was covering all the blood trail.Lady friends 16 yr old son next morning found 12 spots my aging eyes could not over 200 yards and we/he found him.Would have hated to leave this to the coyotes !Here he is with the deer,nice young man who may enjoy our obsession when he gets older,he was quite excited and big help draging too;

Get yourself a grunt call/bleat can and sit by those scape lines and you will fill your freezer too LG.
