Depends. Are you stuffing Wallyworld high pressure loads into hundred year old guns? That would be pound foolish.
Are you using a brand new Rizzini or Purdy or some other masterpiece made strong as a bank vault. In that case, not pound foolish and the shells are plenty good.
I recently heard a quote attributed to George Digweed that "every shell being manufactured is better than the best shooter." I shoot A LOT and I agree. All the shells I buy are better than I am, that's for sure.
