Last Year I wanted to do a custom gun project and after checking a few avenues I called Browning. I asked if they sold a Superposed in the white and they told me that they were sold as completed guns only. However they keep a few Gran Lightnings in the white on hand for just such an emergency! I ordered one and had Geoffroy Gournet engrave it for me and had the stock doctor put on a leather recoil pad. One side shows where I shot my first duck, Ogden Bay, accross from Fremont Island and the other side shows two grouse flushing. Please note the crooked aspen tree, we have quite a few like this up high in the mountains. The link to gournetusa shows a phez on the bottom and the first bird I ever shot-a sage grouse-on the trigger guard. The lumber is claro, I think and has pretty good fiddle back on both sides.

Geoffrey came to the USA to work in my shop (Lynchburg, Va. area)during the 80's. I had a crew (about 40) working/training at that time. Geof & Terrie D. had their lawyer call me from Paris to ask about the chance of working at my shop. At the time , they were in training at Liege. I explained that I wouldn't need them at the moment ---- about a few months later they showed up unannounced. Ah well, might as well try and help them out , I thought.

I can see that Geof has developed an American styling to his scroll and is doing well. IM, you are justifiably proud of your new piece --- Geof did a great piece of work. I look forward to seeing him at the next Souther Classic this April. Ken

P.S. Mr. Ken Baron23's project seems very complex. Do you think you'll be able to get all of the detail on the receiver?

IM --- for sure. All I gotta do is grind all my tools real small & keep the points so sharp that I can't see the point with a 10X loop. This piece will be a labor of love --- I love a complex demandimg project --- just hate to give it up after finishing it.
