I have resoldered quite a few fore end lugs, a few of which fell completely off of the gun but the majority had become loose, but had not fallen off. Attentive gun owners often find these problems before catastrophic failure when they clean their guns after use.

Your implication that the gun was damaged by Mr. Promfer was low class, but not unexpected behavior from you.
