I don't understand. Wolverine Supply says they can't ship anything to the United States and you're trying to find an "end around"?

Look somewhere else, bro.

I don't think as an American you can just walk in and buy ammo at Canadian gun store. Don't you need to present signed firearm declaration form?

Yeah, more than likely you would have to have a PAL.

I am telling you, other than airfare to Europe, Wolverine is the closest option and is 1/2 the cost as in Europe. Say that Wolverine only has 1/2 of the 245 Boxes they note, that's still several thousand rounds of ultra rare ammo, loaded....

Borderview are licensed firearms dealers in both Canada and the U.S. and they physically walk the ammo (or guns) through customs into the U.S. Then ship to Raimey from the U.S. store.
If the previous pattern occurs, it is likely that things will change with the Tariffs fairly quickly. It appears that the tariff is dependent of the country of origin of the ammo. I couldn't find the rules for antique ammunition.

I-Run Guns is another Importer that can get ammunition into the U.S. from Canada.

https://irunguns.ca/content.php?page=import-process-canada-to-us

There are several ATF Field Offices located in Alabama, and there are regulations concerning importing ammunition on the ATF website. Under the instructions for ATF Form 6, there are some rules concerning the import of ammunition for personal use that seem to suggest you may not even need the services of an importer. See No.'s 3 and 7 under the General Information section of the Instruction Sheet for ATF Form 6

According to No. 7, you may not even need an FFL to import ammunition for personal use and not for resale. If that is true, it could save you a few bucks.

It might be worthwhile to give an ATF office a call, or pay them a visit rather than seeking info from internet lawyers.

What caliber\gauge are you looking for? And the above answers, which match what I remember, rule out any chance of you getting the ammo without an importer.

If you don't want to mention the caliber/gauge in an open forum, PM me, I MIGHT know a source that won't require you going through an importer and I have no gun that is chambered in an ultra rare caliber.

Raimey, I have used both Borderview and IRUNGUNS for moving shotguns across the border. I preferred Borderview because although it was a bit more expensive, they were much better at making the mandatory engraving of importer small and discreet. IRUNGUNS not so much.

Most people I know in the vintage gun world use Borderview. Zero experience with ammo. As SKB alluded to, price can be prohibitive but the more you are buying, the better the cost averaging makes it look. Just buy a ton!

Anyway, for 6X70R or 6,5X70R a turned stick of brass or raw unformed Bertram stick of brass is $6 min a stick.

A box of loaded 6X70R Norma is $66 / 20. And I assumed the monetary units are US???

If you are referring to the prices on the Wolverine website, it is highly likely, as a company not pursuing US sales but primarily operating within Canada and targeting Canadians, the price would be in Cdn $. $66 Cdn would be around $47.50 USD.

Any reason you think a Canadian company, operating within Canada with a Canadian client base, would use a foreign currency?
