https://fk-wurfscheibe.de/allgemein/erinnerungen-an-albert-preuss-12284/

I found this article today, a very detailed account of the life and work of Albert Preuss.
I am only copying the first few lines of this article, as it is very detailed, plenty of pictures, sources etc.
Enjoy!

Thanks for posting this. I came across the same excellent article on Albert Preuss while researching the Deutsche Versuchs-Anstalt für Handfeuerwaffen at Halensee.
It proved to be a very useful source and led me considerably further into the subject. In particular, I became interested in the great prize shooting competition held at Halensee in 1897, which brought together many well-known German gunmakers, ammunition and powder manufacturers, hunters and competitive shooters.
What started as a search for information on that competition eventually turned into a much broader story about the DVA, Major Thiel, Albert Preuss and the attempts to put the testing of sporting guns and ammunition on a scientific basis.
I have just published the results of that research on Hunting Heritage:

Halensee 1897 - Where Germany's Gunmakers Met Theire Customers

There is a surprising amount of original material still to be found on this subject, including contemporary photographs, shooting results and descriptions of the testing methods used at Halensee.
