Yes, there certainly was and still is a lot of history there that is conveniently ignored or forgotten. But isn't this the same in all other parts of the world?

Prague is actually closer to Regensburg than to Vienna.
But then, Regensburg was part of the large but loose German empire, and actually until 1806 the seat of its parliament, the "Immerwährende Reichstag"

All the influental nobility came there, the Kuchenreuters profited and thrived, but this ended in 1806.
I think the heyday of the Kuchenreuters was before this, and paired and cased pistols were probably more important for them as hunting guns.
