It's 1/2" black pipe: 4" nipple, connector, 8" nipple, and floor flange. Connected to a scrap of 2x lumber covered in scrap leather. the post fits nicely into 7/8" hole. Total cost about $20 and 20 minutes Jim

Personally, I can see how I could use it to support a set of barrels when the barrel hook was clamped in the vise. And, I'm sure other uses would present themselves. Good job. Like this: There is also a hole closer to the vise for shotgun stocks It would certainly be useful for barrels like you suggested or anything else that needed support I should also mention I revised my design the use 3/8" black pipe, which fits in a 3/4" or 11/16" hole, and I shortened the riser to 6" Last edited by Woodreaux; 08/16/26 12:17 AM. I especially love the brake shoe style swivel, which is night and day better than any other design I've tried. The tall and peaked jaws are also outstanding for almost everything I do. Jim
