this is interesting and one would like to see a copy of the article.

One of the driving forces behind the standardization efforts was Albert (not Paul, not Alfred) Preuss, who was the head of the Versuchsstation Neumannswalde (and who was part of the 1912 Olympic Trap team).
Already in 1900 he wrote an article in "Das Schiesswesen", titled "Kalibersorgen", elaborating on points 1, 2 and 4 as detailed above.

PS. I found this article in Schuss und Waffe, no. 17, p. 410. It is signed "Die Versuchsstation". What is your reason to assume that Herr Ungewitter participated in this article?
