Tariff Relief for Antique Firearms
We have some good news for U.S. collectors importing antique firearms.
Antique firearms classified under HTS 9706 are now exempt from the new U.S. Section 301 tariffs, and the temporary Section 122 tariff has also expired.
To qualify under HTS 9706, a firearm must be more than 100 years old and meet the relevant customs classification requirements.

This means qualifying antique firearms will not currently be subject to the additional Section 301 tariff. The standard 0.4% U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) will still apply, along with any other applicable fees.

This is great news for U.S. collectors and could mean a significant saving when importing antique firearms.

As always, tariff rules can change, and eligibility will depend on the individual firearm and its correct customs classification.
