I just became the proud owner of a **1925 Emil Eckoldt (E. Eckoldt), Suhl side-by-side shotgun**, and I couldn't be happier.

I'm interested in learning more about the history of Emil Eckoldt and any details specific to these shotguns. If anyone has historical information, catalogs, personal experience, or other resources, I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you.

I can't wait to carry this beautiful old gun into the uplands this season and give it another chapter in its nearly 100-year story.

Fotos of the marks/stamps would be beneficial.

Now we(mouse in my pocket) have always related Emil Eckoldt to Hugo Eckoldt, but sources in Suhl now give that they were not related as we had assumed. I will have to dig on that nugget of info.

So you have Emil Eckoldt's drilling & then the Kerner-Anson platform, which was the staple utilized by Suhl makers even up to recent times.

But for now, keep novel advances by Emil Eckoldt and Hugo Eckoldt separate.

NICE, I have an Emil Echoldt hammer gun in 12 gauge, both barrels cyl. bore with fold down sight and a pop up peep sight.

That is interesting. The pop-up peep sight in the grip part of the tang (butt stock) was usually reserved for single-bullet barrels.

Interesting stuff in the well of the water-table.

The script »RS« is going to be the tubeset knitters stamp of liability & compensation. The other pink encircled mark is that of a tube maker that converted Belgian sourced rough bored tubes from Bar Stock to a barrel.

I think tube mechanic Robert Schlegelmilch passed in 1924, so he may be out of the running.

KI(Künstliche Intelligenz) actually gives the tube maker's mark as a »K«. Tough one for now: Kelber, Klett, etc....
