Looking for 500 - 450 #1 Express 2 3/4" Unprimed Brass Cases and dies. Thanks Mike

Tough to find brass, easy to make from 500-416 though. I have been looking for some RCBS dies for years with no luck, CH4D has finally made a run of them but I'm not sure if they have any left in stock.

I have 20 cases formed from BELL 500x3", which I believe are new. You will have to headspace off the shoulder, because of the thinner rim.

The dies are hard to find. I had a set on order with CH4D last year, but was fortunate enough to score a set off eBay early this year.

I have used piano wire rings to get the headspace correct. using thin rim brass.

I believe Bertram has a run of these cases. You could check with their USA distributor. Cost is about 2x what it had been but you get thick rim brass. My recommendation is to anneal the cases you get. It isn't fun to have splits in very expensive cases fired under moderate loads.

I foolishly sold a nice set of dies and then bought a nice WR DR in 50/450 #1. It took several years, looking on eBay to find another set of dies. They show up now and then.

If your son can can 3D print, you might ask him to print small rings to slide on 500 EX cases to make thick rim cases.

I don't think Bertram brass is available in the US anymore, at least that's what I've heard.

I currently use their brass, which works well, and has the correct head stamp.

The best brass to use for conversion is 475 No.2 NE, as the rim is plenty thick.
I have some of that too, but have not converted it.
