Ted,

I’ve watched plenty of Isle of Man footage over the years. As a 4 wheel enthusiast, what those guys do blows my mind. And I did not know the details of the gentleman who crashed in your video.

My comment wasn’t really related to those guys. More along the lines of what Stan posted. The young lady I’m spending time with these days recently suggested I get a dirt bike to match hers so we can ride together. That one earned a hard no as I turn 68 on Saturday. There is a difference between being open to new (or recalled from long ago) experiences and just being stupid.

Funny, as I’ve aged, I have largely fine tuned my active activities to move away from things that require engines for the fun. Skiing, sailing, the things we talk about here. Those keep me plenty active and challenged.

And I have no intention of being bedridden for 15 years. That’s what so many of you fail to get when you talk about Canada’s medically assisted suicide. We aren’t busy offing depressed teenagers. The vast majority are those in their 80s and 90s who have had enough. That’s not to say the concept couldn’t be abused. But to date it’s a blessing for thousands.
