Whiskey throttle! I like Monterey. Been already. I’ve heard good things about Thunderbolt, in New Jersey, and could stay with my cousin, but, haven’t decided on doing that one yet. The hot tip is to do the single day school, and then decide if you want to do the two day camp. No Olds. No FJ. Back in the day, you could use your own bike at school, but, they don’t allow that anymore. Usually alone. Why, are you going? I’ve watched plenty of Isle of Man footage over the years. As a 4 wheel enthusiast, what those guys do blows my mind. And I did not know the details of the gentleman who crashed in your video.
My comment wasn’t really related to those guys. More along the lines of what Stan posted. The young lady I’m spending time with these days recently suggested I get a dirt bike to match hers so we can ride together. That one earned a hard no as I turn 68 on Saturday. There is a difference between being open to new (or recalled from long ago) experiences and just being stupid.
Funny, as I’ve aged, I have largely fine tuned my active activities to move away from things that require engines for the fun. Skiing, sailing, the things we talk about here. Those keep me plenty active and challenged.
And I have no intention of being bedridden for 15 years. That’s what so many of you fail to get when you talk about Canada’s medically assisted suicide. We aren’t busy offing depressed teenagers. The vast majority are those in their 80s and 90s who have had enough.That’s not to say the concept couldn’t be abused. But to date it’s a blessing for thousands.

My little brother had no intention of being bedridden either James. Yet, here we are. I have narrowed my focus as well. I just don’t like to do the maintenance on all the damn little engines. I haven’t skied in years, a couple good knee injuries knocked that out from under me. I don’t run or jog, either, but, get a walk and a bicycle ride in most days. I need to move some guns. Probably some other junk, too. For as long as I can, I’ll ride a motorcycle. I’m not too interested in anything under a litre class bike, and I’ve evolved into a guy who actually pays attention to the scenery instead of just my line on the road. Rhodes, I’m in the middle of retiring. I can’t believe what a pain in the ass signing up for all these damn pensions and annuities and Medicare and Social Security is turning out to be. I think I’m invited to Lake of the Woods this fall, too, haven’t worn out my welcome just yet. You have time, and I’ll give you plenty of notice.
