Anyone going to Game Fair tomorrow look out for Swallow Forge, next to the Gunmakers stand on Gunmakers Row.
Toby Smith is hand forging pattern welded gun barrels, as was done 100 years ago!

NB I am told The Field stand offer 2 free admission tickets to the Bronze VIP area if you take out a 6 month subscription.

That would be fascinating to see. It would be great if it gets recorded and posted on YouTube.

I am sure that he could, but assuming they pass provisional proof and disregarding what ever he needs to charge for the tubes I doubt that I could find a barrel maker able to build the new set of barrels for less than £10,000.

As I would then end up with a gun, even with its novelty value, worth less than £1,000 my wife will be delighted to learn that it is not a project that I intend to embark on.

As the Irishman asked for directions said “If I was going there, I wouldn’t start from here”.

A guy I shoot with is manning a booth for one of the UK based trap companies.
His name’s Charlie, stop and say Hi!

Lots of great stuff to see at a game fair.

Love the dog demo’s.

I'm reminded of the Joe Bonanassa song "Just 'cause you can, don't mean you should."
