Have CVA brand 12 ga muzzle loading doublegon...

One barrel is stamped 700 kp/cm2...

No proof stamps nor max load stamps...

700kp translates to damn near 10,000 psi...

would like to suggest max load to potential new owner...

Google suggests 85 grains Black, with 1 1/4 shot as max load..,

your suggestions?

this is two barrel set, with 50 cal rifled barrels included...

Find out what CVA recommended and state that. Is that so hard to figure out?

Still wanting others to do your research for you. You're nothing if not predictable.

for example, bet many here do not know that one of the signs of an over load, is when fired, a traditional muzzle loading firearm throws the hammer back to half or even full cock...

when this happens, back off your powder charge 10%...

and see if this change allows the hammer to stay on nipple after firing...

go ahead stan, tell us you know all about that and every thing else...

and there is no good reason to state this safety tip here...

and then, the next question...

have any of you ever pushed one of these cva double gons to its practical limits?

and if so, what are the max powder and shot charges it will endure...

without showing signs of overload...

and what wad column did you use in the process...
