I suspect this gun will bring a great deal of money; and with all fees likely $150K or more. A Boss round body SxS 20 gauge 30 inch barrel with Boss single trigger is an ideal gun to my way of thinking. I do not know how many were ever made but I think you could count them on one hand, excluding the thumb.

Great gun, but as a purist, I wish they had not altered the gun with changeable chokes.

This is a very recently produced gun. Keep in mind that all UK guns built today are built with non toxic shot in mind so are “superior proof” in most cases and Teague chokes are the norm.

One of the better gunsmiths in the UK has told me that no British single trigger is actually reliable. He has worked for a lifetime on the guns and should know.

Some folks like the rounded frame but to others it detracts from the classic game gun look.

Boss guns finish up about the best of the London guns today.

I would add that quite a few longish barreled small bores are being built in both O/U and SXS. Pairs, trios etc. I doubt many come to market. The current wait time is quoted as 3-3.5 years and it takes fully that long.

The Boss crew is great to deal with and they are building some fantastic guns. If anyone wants more details feel free to message me. If I knew how to post photos on this site I would do so.

If that trigger proved to be satisfactory I suspect I could close out my chapter here using it exclusively for doves, and not feel deprived one whit.

Hundred fifty thousand you say? How much is a new one built to fit a client? I ask out of curiosity because I don't know.

Why? Have you had issues with British guns?

I like my B-SS (badged as a Miroku over here) but it is not as nice as my Webley 600 boxlock, even though it is almost a complete clone - identical weight, chokes and dimensions. It somehow rings differently when fired, plus the two triggers are 1/8th of an inch too close together.

Their terminology for screw chokes is the first I've heard. Are we sure they are referring to Teague screw chokes? For a hundred large, where are the other chokes?

I believe Briley makes "invisible" choke inserts. Finished (Soldered?) at the muzzle so that they can't be seen from outside the bore. They are not interchangeable without going to Briley or a gunsmith. Pretty good solution for a vintage gun that needs some choke, but I have trouble with this application. And 1/4 & 1/4? This is what I believe the auction house is describing - maybe not?? Between this, the rounded action, and single trigger, it is not attractive to me at well short of $150,000.

Wrong again. I couldn't care less. I wouldn't give you a gnat's azz for a BSS 20 gauge.I've got better 20 gauge bird guns than that. And, I USE mine.

I just love calling you out on your bragging.

Neither the squirrel nor Jimmy will use what they have. Does anyone else see a parallel here?

Well played, Ted.

No doubt about it. Definitely a parallel here. You and Ted...........And how would you know what I will use or what I have? I have a safe full of 20 gauges, too. Some, probably better than a BSS, too. And I do use them all the time. So, I don't see your point, Stan. But, now it really does appear to be eating your heart out. 😁

^^^^^ I am IGNORING this user the same way he IGNORES me ^^^^^^

DimmyW, if you really want to get under Ted and Stan's skin, just tell them how well received you were when you made your return to the Indiana Gun Owners forum.

I hear it went really great, with a couple guys immediately suspecting that your new INGO member account was most likely that of a former member that had been "Shootered", or permanently banned. Not every shill account holder can manage that. But don't worry. Some of those Hoosiers are just naturally suspicious like that.

By the way, cleaning your guns twice a week really doesn't count as "using them all the time".

That's just one of the many things you don't see. Maybe when you're dead and gone someone after you will actually use the B-SS, like it was meant for.

I know a fellow who has two big safes full of shotguns, rifles and pistols. Some really hard to find ones that are "unfired" (how is it known that they weren't test fired before leaving the factory?). He has a Browning Auto 5 that is still new-in-box, and has never been assembled (according to him, reckon Browning never assembled it when they built it? crazy). I don't get him, just like I don't get you. He's liable to die with that A 5 in that box. To what avail? So y'all can show them to people and proclaim "Never fired!" ? Oh,. . . . . wow.

Hint, A 5s and B-SSs ain't Mona Lisas. But, have fun your way. The world's likely big enough for all of us.

Well, there you go again. I'm trying so hard to see your point of view, Stanton, but I still can't seem to get my head that far up my ------. I remember there was a time not too long ago when certain people (incorrectly) said I was anti-gun, because I didn't care for Trump. Then, just like everyone else does, I started posting my purchases on the board- one in particular, a Model 21 and someone called me a liar. Said it wasn't really mine. (kieth of course). (He's stilling missing everything by a mile, but that will never change.) Now I make one little cutesy comment to harry AND LOOK AT THE MONSTER YOU CREATED!! 😳 And look at the bunch of rednecks who came traipsing in out of the woods with you and Ted -with their "likes". When other people show pictures of their guns do you accuse them of bragging? Do you ask them if they every gun they have? Hmmmm..... I try to compliment people on the guns they show. And actually, I have been shooting almost EVERY DAY. All summer long. So, what I do with my guns I'll do with my guns. Thank you. And you know, I took you off of my ignore list because you started acting pretty decently, lately. Wow!!............ So, Tim in PA- if you're reading all of this, you've been right all along. I am laughing at them. So, a tip of the hat to you ol' buddy!!...........................................................................(Going out the door.) WOW!! THIS REALLY IS EATING THIS GUY'S HEART OUT!!

Just some thoughts:

I have had a single trigger Boss SxS and a WR SxS. Both utterly reliable.

At 84 I no longer shoot "game" but I still shoot quite a few targets and I do have a target gun that just screams HV Argentinean doves. That is a Krieghoff K20 28 gauge with 32" fixed choke barrels. At 7# on the nose it might be the most natural "pointer" I have ever used. Love the gun.

I am truly envious of those guns, CastnBlast3. I'll bet they're gorgeous. Good luck. 👍
