Condition report from Holt's. It would be a painting on the wall, not a field gun. Undecided:
CONDITION: Barrels have been well rebrowned although the finish has faded and thinned in one area near muzzle on right hand tube. All gilt detailing remains intact bar from the first leg of the letter 'M' in 'E.M. Reilly'. Bores are bright and clean but appear repolished as traces of previous pitting is visible just forwards of the forcing cones in both barrels. Chambers dull with crusty deposits near the cones. Tight on face. Engraved detail rubbed on action body and furniture otherwise well preserved. Both locks have positive and audible half and full cock positions that are well matched in position. Wood has been extensively refinished and stock has been cracked through and well repaired at wrist. The chequered area disguises the majority of the repair, but has resulted in some shrinkage at head and also proudness of the tangs etc. Fore-end has some minor old chipping along the upper edges.

if you like it that much to advertise it here, then buy it before someone else does...

The Reilly sold for £1,200. I wasn't willing to bid that much essentially for a piece of art. Yet looking at it again it is still the most beautiful pin-fire I've ever seen. Hope Harry got it.

I didn’t bid on it. The various additional fees and costs to get it here aren’t worth it to me. Especially with so many U S auction houses and declining prices to choose from.
