On this Paul Mossiers one finds the unique bolsters & this one was made by Gebrueder Merkel so it just had to be that a Merkel Mechanic frame filer was responsible for these lovely adornments. ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/81/2d/hfjkX0Lx_t.jpeg) Hochachtungsvoll, Raimey rse

M. Reilly boxlock ejectors. The action filing of the breech balls of the gun that you show is very Germanic in style. Do you know if Sauer imported Greener actions in the rough state, or were they set up to make the FP actions under licence?

Do you have a name in the »The King's English« for the side bolster profile¿ I guess more of an engravers term? But one mainly sees this type adornment / frame filing on Berlin offerings and gunmakers like Foester, J.J. Reeb, Fischer, O. Geyger, etc. which I will get the list. https://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=206427I have never seen an APUN on the Sauer Sow-Bellies. But remember that the Germans were cheap & proud. Not as Cheap as the Indians, but Cheap. For the most part, H.A. Lindner was about the only maker to pay the APUN for the A&D Body Action with »Belts & Braces« and have them stamped @ the Francotte Satellite Stamping Station in Liége. All the other makers tried every other platform known to man, and waited until the Protection Period Expired, before they succumbed to adopt the A&D Body Action and then modify it to the Kerner-Anson Platform, which was the workhorse for German Platforms. I seem to recall the Facile Princeps arrived on the scene in the 1880s so Sauer waited until the Protection Period Expired. Too Remember that Europe, for the most part, was ruled by Brits and until each Country developed their own National Identity, they longed to be Brits and desired British things.... Got wound around axel and my Info Ball of String ran over me & I forgot to answer your question. Evidently Sauer W.W. Greener Facile Princeps Actions and in a quid pro quo effort exported Krupp Tube Steel to Greener; being different that the strike in Britain which saw Purdey import Krupp Tube Steel, maybe the Same Sauer Source, when he couldn't get Whitworth. Purdey later offered to replace the ole lower tier Krupp Steel Tubes with Whitworth. But you will find Krupp 3 Ringe tubesets with Kilby fingerprints on them as well as British Proofs.

![[Linked Image from i165.photobucket.com]](http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u46/prussiangunguy/IMG_1169.jpg) O Geyger Berlin offering & thread..... https://www.doublegunshop.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=257745A light rainy day, which is always a Good Summer Day along with my arriving on this Mortal Coil @ 11:58 pm tonight many moons ago, I will open up a window of free time from this every Hectic Life of Kids, Dogs & Calves to research each of these Berlin Firearms Merchants to see if there may be a common/similar sourcing relationship to Gebruder Merkel. ![[Linked Image from i165.photobucket.com]](http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u46/prussiangunguy/OttoGeyger12Ga.jpg) »I think Jerry Mouer has nailed it. It looks to be a rounded action, not the flat top and could also be a Model 17(most likely) or 18(chopperlump-Meisterwerk and usually has gold inlay) with the overhanging and lower intercepting(Schnitt-from cutway) scears. I'm curious if "Special-Gewehr-Lauf-Stahl" is on the the tubes. O.(Oscar/Otto?) Geyger peddled longarms mainly by Oskar Merkel(with the typical Merkel frame which this one doesn't have) of Suhl but also included some Johann Paul Sauer weapons such as longarms and the Behorden Model 7,65 Calibre pistol, which along with a typewritter can be seen in a circa 1935 O.(Otto/Oscar?) Geyger advertisment. Sauer was taking it on the chin in the 1920s and early 1930s and closed their Berlin office and O. Geyger became the sole agent. Oscar Geyger began circa 1890(moved around 1900) and held the power of attorney for N.v. Dreyse weapons company, Oscar Geyger & Company.«.... Hochachtungsvoll, Raimey rse
