Safe bet he is still correct, few that are employed there will know how to use either tool properly.

Best,

Probably true. It took me a while to figure out how to get consistent measurements. I doubt Big Box Sporting Goods provides that training.

Good luck buying vintage doubles at Cabela’s, you're on your own. The info provided at most locations regarding listings is nonexistent.

While many at Cabelas do not understand occasionally they hire a competent and knowledgeable guy. I have met a few there over the years, though they were the exception.

It used to be the case, good luck finding person like that at Cabelas today. You're lucky if listing mentions correct weight, chokes, barrel length. Don't confuse them with stuff like: chamber length, barrel wall thickness, ejector function,....

Yes I know what’s in the pic(although missed the girly book) I measure my tubes at home. Does take lots of time and patience to use it correctly. I just can’t seem to get Cabelas guys to give me an accurate weight. I would not trust a wall thickness from them to be correct or even close. Can’t complain though I have bought several of my favorite shotguns from them and sold some to them also.
