Wrong Princess Karen, I made the mistake of voting for that Criminal Trump only one time, in 2016.
Tariffs, the war in Iran, destroying the post WWII world order that brought America vast wealth, all are piss poor policy. I don't support Trump or MAGA and won't be voting GOP for a very long time to come after the economic damage Trump's failed policies have caused me. I didn't complain about inflation under Biden because my business was thriving and I was making enough money that the inflation did not hurt me, unlike the Trump years where my income has taken a huge hit and inflation is surging.
Trump has me convinced, GOP policy is not in my best interest, my bank account certainly shows that.

Very informative conversation, I can add that the gold standard was $25 (ca.1900) Winchester 1897. It's still very sought after classic repeater that holds value quite well. It took me long time to find 16ga one in good shape for $450.

Mention of the Depression reminds me that not only were these affordable “Everyman” doubles tools of provision and protection for the large segment of Americans at the bottom of the economic scale they were also responsible for saving at least one American gun company.
1929 dawned with optimism and promise and for good reason - America had just gone through a decade of so-called “permanent prosperity” and this same “Everyman” had, for the first time, become an investor (via margin accounts, unfortunately). Meanwhile, on the banks of Fall Creek at the southern end of New York’s Finger Lakes region, Smith and Livermore, the hands-on owners of Ithaca Gun Co. were doing what they’d been doing through decades of successful operation: they were making their own assessments and planning and implementing accordingly.
The result was instead of launching a high end model to tap into this growing wealth across America, they introduced a new double at the opposite end of the spectrum: the Ithaca Western Arms “Long Range”.
And when 1929’s true character crashed onto the scene, Ithaca “just happened” to be ready. Annual sales of the flagship NID plunged from thousands to hundreds bottoming out in 1934 at zero.
And the Long Range? From 1929 - 1939, Ithaca sold 49,000+. And the company was saved.
Competitors and critics claimed it was luck. I believe it was a classic example of the aphorism:
The smarter I work The “luckier” I get.

Trump has me convinced, GOP policy is not in my best interest, my bank account certainly shows that. Princess Stevie, your dishonesty borders on pathological. I absolutely confronted you numerous times during the 2020 election cycle about being an apparent Biden supporter, due to the same constant criticism and crying you have done about Trump ever since he became a politician. But you denied it, and even lied by saying it would be foolish for someone in your profession to support an anti-gun Democrat. Yet you never stopped being critical of Trump, and I called you out on it every time. Then you began to openly support Biden shortly after Trump was elected in 2024. This was no surprise to anyone with two good eyes who could see you have always been a closet Liberal Democrat who claimed to be an "independent moderate". Now your Trump Derangement Syndrome has reached a boiling point where you inform us that you intend to hold the entire GOP responsible for Trump's sins "for a very long time." It is dishonest and idiotic to say that the much higher inflation rate under Biden didn't hurt you, but the much lower inflation rate under Trump has killed your business, and hurt your income and bank account. Fact is, the 20-25% Bidenflation hurt everyone who earned, spent, or saved U.S. dollars. It eroded the savings and retirement accounts of your gun buying customers, and continues to be a huge factor in their spending... especially those on fixed retirement incomes. Biden spent a lot more on military aid to Ukraine than the Iran war cost, but you'll say nothing about that either.... even though both Russia's invasion and Iran's nuke and terror funding program can be traced to Democrat ineptitude. You are still predictably silent about the massive job losses under Biden, and the fact that the only reason he could claim any improvement at all was the numbers of people who returned to work after Democrats forced a massive economic Covid19 shut-down. But the oil drilling, oil pipeline construction, and coal mining jobs didn't come back, and those workers were advised to "learn to code". Nor will you admit that inflation adjusted gas prices were much higher and lasted much longer under Biden. So now you cry to us like a baby about your failing business, even though the guns you buy at auction in the U.K. are historically cheap. You act like the 10% Tariff you pay and then pass on to your customers is killing you, when the guns they are buying now are much less than 10% cheaper than they were 10-20 years ago. Maybe you should complain to the U.K. about the 9.8%. Tariff they impose on U.S. agricultural products and other Trade barriers and impediments to that Post-WWII order you touted as being good for America. We don't see any other Gun Dealers crying like you do about Trump. They aren't complaining about surging inflation or losing money. So maybe the real problem lies with you. Maybe your customers have less disposable income after that 20-25% Bidenflation, and maybe many of them are choosing not to deal with a Gun Dealer who openly supports anti-gun Democrats. And perhaps they also see you bashing Trump here on a regular basis, while also taking advantage of this forum's site Administrator by engaging in inappropriate Free Tagline Advertising of your For-Profit business ventures. Since you refuse to say if you have paid Dave the $12.00 fee for each and every sale resulting from that Free Tagline Advertising, perhaps many potential customers feel that you shouldn't be trusted after being so evasive about such a simple question. Time to stop blaming Trump like a crybaby, and take a good look at the anti-gunner supporting Closet Democrat Libtard in your mirror.

Find the post, and then post a link, you can't.
I supported Trump in 2016, principally because of Obama's actions regarding gunsmiths/manufacturers on the way out the door, that and I just couldn't support Hillary.
Trump's first impeachment convinced me that he was a criminal, I have not cast a vote for him since.
The Biden years were extremely good to me, surprisingly so. The mess that has been Trump's second term? Not so much.
My business is hardly failing, it has taken some time to recalibrate and it will be a bit more time until I am able to get things back to where I want them, but I will. I'm not a quitter like Ted.
Inflation, terrible exchange rates, illegal tariffs, the big ugly bill(more trickle down economics), a soaring deficit, and unwarranted war. No, Karen, I certainly do not support the mess that team MAGA has made.
I sure do miss those establishment Republicans that the criminal element of the GOP ran out of the party though. Maybe someday the pendulum will swing back to the center, until that time I won't be voting Republican. Sorry Karen, my vote to cast, and won't be for the GOP anytime in near future.

but, good news bout duh I ran peace deal, right? Ed, perhaps you should pay closer attention. Then you would notice that it was Princess Stevie that changed the subject to an off-topic rant about Donald Trump. I just happen to think she deserves a response to her totally irrational Trump Derangement. The next GOP Presidential candidate won't miss Princess Stevie's vote or support one bit... because they never had it anyway from the Closet Democrat Princess Stevie.

No problem Princess Stevie.. I will comply with your request for a link, and as a bonus, I will post pics of my work as you previously requested... just as soon as you Post the reply to the same simple question I have asked dozens of times. Have you been paying Dave the $12.00 fee for each and every sale resulting from the inappropriate Free Tagline Advertising of your personal business ventures you do here? This isn't a one-way street Princess, and it seems very suspicious that someone who has nothing to hide or be ashamed of would run like a coward, and continue to evade such a simple question. It's hardly surprising that you embrace the findings of the totally partisan House Select Impeachment Committee that was comprised of Trump hating Democrats and only two RINO Republicans that also hated Trump. But on this forum, you were nothing but critical of Trump, even while you falsely claimed you had voted for him. I'm pleased that you have finally come out of the closet in regards to Trump. It also isn't shocking to hear that you miss the RINO Republicans that have been ousted. However, they were not ran out of the Party by the "criminal element of the GOP" as you say. They got voted out by the voters in their States who got tired of them being just as phony as you are when it comes to Republican principles. Good riddance, and hopefully the rest of the RINO's will get replaced by better candidates. You still haven't explained how Biden Inflation of at least 20-25% is somehow better than the much lower inflation that has persisted under Trump. You must live all alone in some bizarre parallel universe where high inflation is better than much lower inflation. I don't expect a reply to that, because you are much too partisan Closet Democrat to broach the subject. I don't see any so-called "trickle down" when I look at the Tax Tables that gave everyone lower income tax rates... even you. It isn't billionaires who are benefitting from getting a break on taxes on tips and overtime. The Deficit continues to be a problem, but Trump at least attempted to tackle it with Tariffs until the Courts stopped him. And it sure isn't helping the Deficit when so much massive Fraud, Waste, and Abuse has been uncovered, but your Democrats are filing dozens of lawsuits to insanely allow the Fraud to continue. The Iran War was hardly unwarranted when they were actively concealing a Nuclear Weapons Program, with a stated goal of Death to America and Death to Israel. Only a complete idiot would say we should wait until we see a mushroom cloud over Israel or the United States. Only someone below idiot level intelligence would think such a scenario wouldn't spike prices of gasoline, oil, and everything else a lot more than the short term pain we felt due to Trump having the brains and balls to finally take action. The only negative I can think of about the Iran war is that another Democrat will manage to steal the election, and then give up everything Trump gained, just as Obama did with Iraq, and Biden did with Afghanistan. But it's always been all about you and your tender feelings. You'll never acknowledge that the soaring Post WWII Economy you touted included hundreds of thousand of good paying middle class jobs that were lost due to stupid Trade Policies that you think are just great. And then Trump went and put a halt to lighting up the White House in rainbow lights for your Pride Month, and that had to send you into orbit. No Republican will miss your vote, because we all know they never had it in the first place.
