If one shoots like an English man they should wear Kevlar glove instead of leather one.

Very thin bbl on the Parker.

The Flues has a “splinter” forend that is only 1 1/4” at its widest and tapers forward in thickness and width. I have average length arms and when I shoot a Flues the tip of the forend is in the palm of my hand and the rest of my hand is forward of it. Depending on arm length and hand size this shooter’s hand could have been verrry close to the “excitement.”

I have a Remington with a similar bust that was a stuck wad. No opinion on yours.

Most barrel bursts look thin at the rupture, due to the stretching of the steel which thins it microseconds before the actual rupture takes place.

The barrel wall thickness just fore and aft of the rupture would measure more than at the rupture itself.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

Long splits without a ring bulge (usually with lifting of the rib of a SxS) are almost always from thin barrels.
I asked the metallurgical engineer at METL who supervised one of my failure studies how much the wall thins with stretching before bursting and his answer was "not much".

Wow, looks like the 50 gallon barrel full of Damascus blown barrels I saw 50 years ago,
The barrels were blown in various locations along the length of the barrels,

The measurements in Drew's picture don't look like "blow-up" thicknesses. Back to the obstruction theory.
