Coyotes don't kill enough deer to matter, and they help keep the population healthy.
They're also good for ground nesting birds.

There is a very good reason the vast majority of hunters (with the exception of coyote hunters) hate to see coyotes move into their area.
Same reason sheep ranchers and poultry farmers hate to see them... coyotes kill and eat these creatures in large numbers.
The deer population was perfectly healthy, and larger, without them. Nobody was saying,"Gee whiz, our deer seem sick... too bad we don't have coyotes to make them healthier."
And there is no question that coyotes are one of the reasons that game bird populations have fallen in so many areas.
To say a 24/7/365 bird eating predator is good for ground nesting birds is like saying termites are good for your house.
