ed good Sidelock Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 10,431 Likes: 168 nh mostly	after factory tubing of any double gun is risky bidness, due to possibility of changing regulation of barrels... better idea, is to alter chokes to mod and mod and shoot steel loads out of shells using latest wad technology... plus, collectors don't like tubed guns... keep it simple and keep it safe...

No offense but that is what 870s and Mossbergs are for. Or a $700 CZ are good for that. BUT- to each his own. Sorry about the rant but I like to keep good guns, especially classics, original. I've shot tons of no. 4 steel out of mine with nary a problem. One caveat. . . . if it has a full choke barrel open it to modified. Mine is now choked .018" and .018". Roughly 15 years of shooting steel no larger than 4s. No issues. May God bless America and those who defend her.

But good luck. Screw in chokes do not "ruin a gun." Every gun I keep is for me to shoot. Not for someone else to pet and fondle as a collector after I am gone. Whatever it takes to make those gun the best for me to shoot is what I will do to it. If that upsets a some purist/collector, that's on them. Properly done, if you didn't look, you'd never know they were there.
