My friend and long time member of this forum GJW (Greg) passed away unfortunately of cancer yesterday. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time. He was a good man and wonderful father and husband. I will surely miss him as will his family and friends.

Terribly sorry about the loss of your friend and a longtime poster here. I enjoyed his posts with photos of him, his kids, his guns, and his dogs.

Godspeed.

Best,
Ted

Wade, I’m so sorry.
I enjoyed communicating with Greg over the Internet for 30 years. He always took the high road.

I always looked forward to seeing Raina and watching his children grow up.

And of course, the end of August upland hunting thread he started every year going back probably 25 years.

May Saint Hubertus take him hunting across the fields of glory.

RIP. Greg.

Out there doing it best I can.

This is terrible news. Greg always had information on a gun he was looking to buy and the yearly hunting thread was great.

I’ve been out packing the truck to take the grandkids to the range this morning and come in to this news. Thank you, Wade, for sharing this with us. And thank you for that great picture of Greg. (2 Timothy 4:7-8).

He loved to be afield with his kids and was a wonderful friend to us all.

Such sad news, I got to know him through a HJ Hussey pair we both shared. He eventually sold his to a friend of mine. He was a true gentleman.
He will be missed by all that knew him.

Greg will surely be missed! His Autumn hunting thread was always a treat, and his posts were always welcomed. Prayers and God's comfort to his family.

Let's all make a commitment to remember Greg by reviving the hunting pics thread each year, in his memory.

I do so. It doesn't matter who starts it, as long as we participate and remember him.

The guys at F.A. Anderson in East Grinstead will be sad to learn that he can no longer enjoy the gun they built.

Yes, let’s keep the annual Guns and Game thread going in fond memory of GJW.

Rest in Peace, Greg and my condolences to your family.

Ted has already said everything that I might. Condolences to all that knew him much better than I and do think it fitting that his annual hunting thread be continued. I've much enjoyed his contributions here. He will be missed.

Thank you. High praise, indeed. I had few interactions with Greg, but, he posted often and, for sure, had a discerning eye for good guns.

Best,
Ted

This is very sad news. My condolences to Greg's family, and may he rest in peace.

I really enjoyed his annual Guns and Game Photos Thread, and give a big +1 to Stan for suggesting that it should carry on in his memory. He sure loved his guns and hunting, but as a priority, they came after his God and family.

The last time I PM'd Greg a couple years ago was to give him instructions on posting photos here direct from an Android phone. During our exchange, I asked him to please say hello to former DoubleGunShop member J.R.B., who was a friend, hunting buddy, and neighbor of Greg's. Joel had stopped Posting here shortly after Doug (PA24) died, but he still PM'd me from time to time. I hadn't heard from J.R.B. in a while, and Greg informed me that he had passed away a few years ago. That's three great guys and staunch 2nd Amendment defenders we lost all too soon.

This is very sad news. Always enjoyed reading Greg's posts. Made doubly so by finding out JRB (Joel) had passed as well. Keith said it well. Greg, Joel and Doug. Three great guys gone too soon.
