I was comparing some Dreilings & noticed that some have the Greener Safety in the Church Window & some in the Wrist of the stock. Is there some design feature that leads the mechanic to chose either; it is personal preference or do the German mechanics prefer the Greener Safety in the Church Window and the the Austrian mechanics fancy the Greener Safety in the wrist¿
I can post fotos if anyone is interested¿

Raimey, forgive my ignorance please, I've never heard of a "Church Window". Got a picture for a dummy?

They are placed where the rod that turns when, the safety is activated, blocks the triggers. Either one is convenient for the thumb, and the difference is only the "style" of the stock. Mike

Interesting. After a Crow shoot this morning, I definitely prefer the Greener Safety in the wrist.

Raimey, Compare the locations of the two safeties to the triggers, there may not be as much actual difference as one would expect. Mike

Ahhh...the biggest difference seems to be the length of the side panel. They're both above the rear trigger.
I don't recall where mine are but I believe I'd prefer the wrist location as well. Once I got used to them I really liked them.
Right now my crows are blue jays. Smart as a crow but not nearly so beneficial, and they're hateful, and they rob my cherries!

Yeah, Bluejays are on my list too. As soon as the leaves expand a bit more, they will become more brave and a target.
But it is the Church Window that is thinker & I prefer the slime neck of the wrist.

Raimey, Compare the locations of the two safeties to the triggers, there may not be as much actual difference as one would expect. Mike Noticed that as well, not as 'far apart' from above the trigger as originally assumed. Personally, I'm not a fan of Greener safeties but if it's on a nice enough gun it's not a deal killer. Likely just a practice/familiarization thing that would become a non-issue after using the gun for some time.
