Hello all. I have been able to find a lot of info on RST ammo, but not so with ARMUSA. I am looking at ARMUSA 12 GA. 2 1/2″ VINTAGE CLASSICO (1 OZ.) 1170 FPS as well as the same for 16 GA.

Any experience using these in vintage doubles? How do they compare to RST? Only thing I could find was that it may be a bit dirtier.

Thanks -Johnny

Have shot both. Vintage Classico are very nice, easy on the shoulder and gun. Similar in felt recoil to RST. I believe VC posts the BAR of the box. I shot them when 16 components were hard to find. Still prefer to load my own.

I have shot both 12 & 16 Vintage Classico and been very happy with the results and lower prices. I've not found it to dirtier, certainly not enough to stop buying it. I have about 5 cases of the 12 and 1-2 cases of the 16g.

The only complaint is I can't find reloading data using the ARMUSA hulls.

I have become addicted to English hammered shotguns to the detriment of my wallet.

I believe ARMUSA uses Cheddite hulls.

Used the 2.5 16ga classic shells in my 1923 Joseph Lang without any issues whatsoever. They were gentle, killed birds dead, didn't seem to be dirty, and functioned flawlessly. More importantly, they were considerably cheaper that RSTs, and available. At least for a while... I'll be picking up another flat or two when they become available again.

I've shot several flats of the 2.5" 12 gauge in my 1891 Damascus Parker and 2.5" 16 gauge 1866 Joseph Lang with replacement Damascus barrels from about 1872 by James Woodward. From my perspective the performance is the same as RST at substantially lower cost.
