I am thankful for the cameraderie and good friends I have made on this board. Happy & healthful Thanksgiving to all!

For the young men and women who are members of our armed forces. They go in harm's way and put their lives on the line, so we can enjoy the liberties that so many people take for granted. Many of them have lost limbs, been disfigured, scarred for life, both, physically and mentally. And many have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Jim: although Ruark had earlier articles in Field and Stream, his first "The Old Man and The Boy" was in the March, 1953 issue.

I'm thankful that my dog still loves me even though we just drove over 1300 miles in search of game and she didnt get one flush. Just booked a trip to a gamefarm thanksgiving day just to get her on some birds. First year I've ever had to resort to that! Its real sad.Hope the birds have a better year of recruitment in 2008. Then I will be real thankful.

I am thankful that I have my family and had my parents for one more year. They are in their late 80's and each day is something that I should be thankful for.

Turkey, stuffing and pie. The country that produced them. The hands that prepared them. The family gathered round. Of course my dogs, the forest and fields we hunt together.
A special thanks for Drew and his wife who have spent countless hours to provide a wonderful visual resource for us all.

It's easy to be thankful for most everything that has already been said...this BB, good friends, a loving family and the opportunity to enjoy God's great outdoors. But one stands above all others as I give thanks for every day I am blessed to spend with my Golden Retriever "Cooper" who has given me 14yrs. 8mos. of unquestioned love and loyalty just like his cousin "Chase" did for 15 yrs. before him...quality time I'll cherish for what remains of my own life, so I am thankful for each new day he's still with me.
