I'm a member at DR so I'll be there all four days. Planning on shooting the Round Action event, a hammer gun event and the Main on Sunday. To bad I spent all my gun money a month ago so I will be window shopping the tents.

I would love to go to something like that. But it is a little too far for me anymore. After about 50- 1000 mile round trips in the past 15 years, I'm all traveled out, so to speak. Maybe if they get a little closer to me, then I would love to go. But it is good that you advertise it, harry. I am sure it would be a fantastic event. Good luck.

A friend has a table reserved so I am hoping to move some guns I don't shoot much anymore, plus we know the Delaney's and will hang with them some. Also thinking of shooting the Round Action event.

I'm going. Stop by the ACGG table and say hello, I should be there. Look for an old guy with white hair.

Doug I’ve got a feeling that isn’t much of a clue. Most of the guys will be old, with white hair. Have fun. Best, Ted

Well I hope I am wrong, but with only eight responds on this tread, and not much more else were, I am thinking the Southern Shoot might be a ''Dud'' this year. Again, I may be wrong, but in a few weeks the results will be it.

There should be a lot more going who don't get on the website. Or who might be on here and just don't respond. I bet it will be great. Take care and have a good time.

Dirty Harry I've been going to the Southern every year since its very beginning......never been a "dud" that I remember. This year will not be a "dud" either.

For those who truly are looking for a certain gun get their early. For those who just want a shooter 12 gauge stay late. Prices will drop the last day. Some folks just don't want to haul guns back home. JMO

Hi Everyone, I will be exhibiting in the Sponsors tent, next to Bob Nay of MacNab Fine Firearms on one side and J-P Daeschler of John Dickson & Son on the other! I will have 13 cased beauties on display, J-P and Bob a whole lot more! I very much doubt it will be a 'dud' as some have prophesied, it just seems to go from good to better! Weather is forecasted as good which is a bonus: cool and dry. Those interested can check out my offerings here: http://www.heritageguns.co.uk/Update%20Pre%20DR26.htm

Looking forward to seeing JP and Bob again. I will have 2 Dickson's, a Purdey and a .410 Rizzini for sale and maybe a O/U just to upset the purists.

I'll be in the lower tent helping Josh Loewensteiner. We are next to Barnett. I just consigned Josh 8 guns for his table. Scratch and dent stuff to Best guns. I have an assortment of soft items from a retired Vintager. Leather shell box carriers from Mulholland Bros, proper shell bags, ammo belts. I'll shoot Dave a check if this prompts you to visit and buy something. Just mention the BBS. Argo, the Patrik, Super Franchise, pre-32 will be there.
Joe in Charlotte.

I attended about 3 years with a friend of mine. He died and the other sxs shooters I know won't go. So, if I decide to attend myself my wife will want to join me thereby ruining the experience! She will want to leave early, complain the whole time and I won't be able to hide a purchase. Guess I'll have to stay home until I get a willing partner!

Now that's funny! 😄 I live with my dog. She doesn't complain about anything, as long as I feed her on time. And she LOVES going to gun stores and seeing me pick up a 21 every now and then. 👍

Phail, As always, nice talking to you again. I always learn something new when we meet. I checked my records. The Mullins that I sold you years ago was the #1 in the set. Thanks again, Dave

Got back on Saturday evening. Thought it was well attended overall, but I've seen more folks over the years. Some vendors who were there in the past have checked out and a few others checked in. Glad to see Will Brothers from Michigan and Black Diamond from Ohio. Younger up and comers who are doing good gunsmithing work. Bought nothing, but that's not abnormal. Nothing really special walked in the tent in regards to Foxes. Galazan was a shell of what they used to be. Tony brought about 1/3 of the guns and other stuff he normally brings. Didn't even bring his nice Trailer this time.
Food was great. Flame steakhouse is special. Actually ate the deep sea scallops and they were impressive. Smoke and Barrel downtown Sandford had excellent Brisket and a bunch of fine beers. Always a good time in Sanford in April, although I'd rather be turkey hunting to be honest. Sadly, lost my nice place in Va two years ago and to old to fight folks on public land. .

I met Mike Proctor and had a nice discussion about Dickson's. Also met a Bill Bell from Calif and discussed Damascus barrels. I thought for sure I had a buyer for my Damascus barreled Dickson as several people admired it. Sold some lower priced dbls and my Purdey. There were an awful lot of really nice dbls, new McKay Browns, Grand Am Win 21's, etc.
