I have shot so many doves in my 66 years of dove hunting that many years ago it became less fun to kill a limit with a 12, so I bought a 20 to become my dedicated dove gun. It went with me on two high volume dove trips to Cordoba. I killed literally thousands with it and 7/8 oz. loads (it's taken north of 9000).

About that time my grandson was beginning to go with me on dove shoots and was going to be using a.410 soon . I decided to take one and use it to try to take a limit, to prove to him that they weren't toys for kids.

I killed my limit that day with the little Yildiz .410 and was absolutely hooked. My grandson killed 8 on the wing, at 9 yrs. of age, on his first dove shoot. He was shooting a 26" barreled Stoeger .410 with 1/2 oz. loads.

People who preach that .410s are a terrible choice with which to introduce kids to hunting need to go on by me and preach to someone else.

May God bless America and those who defend her.
