The price was nice. Commission was 18% on top of the $4800, but still seemed right. I was very happy with the help I got from the auctioneer before the sale to determine condition. And they packed and shipped well.
But as Karl pointed out, it’s not mine till I shoot it. Have to rectify that soon.

Do Westleys with an extension rib normally have a double bite under lug? The only Westley I have has only the extension rib bite. How unusual is a Westley with no extension rib?

Eightbore, When was your gun made? The original A&D design (1875) only showed the WR dolls head as the locking mechanism. However, the Purdey double underbite became the standard fairly quickly. Ken

This is the other Explora blog article on lightweight WR droplocks. The Pair WR Lightweight Although the top of the guns aren’t pictured, the shape of the top lever from the side looks like th WR C-bolt. Ken
