I saw a listing recently showing a Daly in the December Rock Island auction. It was a Diamond Grade in Featherweight Model. It additionally had heavy relief gold inlays. The estimate was listed in the 5 digit range, but I don't have access and couldn't see the final bid. I was surprised since I had never seen a Diamond GradeFeatherweight. I didn't reaize they made such a gun (although no reason they shouldn't). I have bid on several Diamonds and own a nice featherweight. From the little I researched it seems the Featherweights are more rare than the DIamond grade. My experience with the one I bought has convinced me the lighter gun is more desireable for most use. I wondered how many of these could have been made, especially with the extra decoration. I would suspect this must be one of the rarest quality doubles, right up there with the Grade 7 custom order Parkers. I searched a while and found only one listing I could find find for a Diamond Featherweight and it was a "standard" style and was listed for not much more than a diamond grade. The listing was a few years old.
I wondered if anyone new what the one at Rock Island sold for.
