Whose next?

If I had to guess…

I wouldn’t mind a guiltless vacation in Havana before I leave this mortal coil.

Neville Chamberlain is treated a little unfairly in popular history (although the manner of his trying to stay in office in 1940 does him no credit).

He did start to re-arm in 1936.

In 1938, at Munich, when he avoided going to war he would have known:-

1) Most of Fighter Command was equipped with biplanes, all slower than the new Dornier, Junkers and Heinkel monoplane bombers
2) The few operational squadrons of Hurricanes had a problem, their guns froze up at altitude and could not fire.
3) No Spitfires were yet operational.

Things at Fighter Command were somewhat improved in 1939 when he did go to war in response to the invasion of Poland.

If the war had started in 1938, and the Battle of Britain fought in the summer of 1939 I might have grown up speaking German,

I was going to stick a toe in here and answer CZs question as to "who is next" but Lonnie beat me to it.

Cuba as a US-friendly tourist destination can't be too-far into the future now, dontcha think? I hear the fishing is still great down there.

Ditto on a Cuban "conquest" as Trump's next confrontation.... should be a relatively easy task for a Country with our capabilities.....The residents would quickly come to see the benefits of a friendly USA .....
Better yet , I might be able to Shoot Pigeons in a tropical destination where many of my older "idols" competed.....

I won't come on here and offer political opinions, everyone is entitled to his/her own, but I am confident in our Nation's ability to recognize a THREAT to our safety here and abroad. Our family watches this event unfolding with COMPLETE and TOTAL support for our servicemen and women carrying out orders and executing their duties as trained.

Our family also watches this unfold differently than some, my beloved's oldest is a Wing commander of a USAF Fighter Group. His mother watches with subdued apprehension, but complete confidence that he will carry out his orders and return to his family. She has the same concern for him now as she did when she dropped him off at the Air Force Academy to begin his chosen career, many years ago. He proudly , and deservedly, wears Silver Eagles on his flight suit and helmet showing his comrades and the ENIMIES of this country that he a Colonel in the Greatest Fighting FORCE in the World today.
May GOD be with our Military Forces Fighting to make sure future generations enjoy the safety, security, and prosperity that we have been blessed with.

It’ll take them until long after we are all dead to clean up that hell hole.

Because Iran has been fighting with us for 47 years, ever since radical Shia Islamists saw weakness in Democrat Jimmy Carter.

They took 54 American hostages and held them for 444 days, right up until Reagan was being Inaugurated. Ever since, it's been much of the same thing, with Iran engaging in direct and indirect attacks on the U.S. and Israel, often using and funding terrorist proxies. They have been quite open about their contempt, and a Jihad that included Death to America.

Unfortunately, for 47 years, we have acted in a teeter-totter fashion as our own country elected Democrats, then Republicans, then Democrats, then Republicans. For the most part, the Republicans engaged in tougher responses to Iran's attacks and responded with limited strikes and tough economic sanctions to try to destabilize the Islamic regime. Then the Democrats would show them weakness by easing sanctions when we had them on the ropes. They negotiated toothless nuclear deals that did next to nothing to ensure Iran was not enriching weapons grade uranium to produce a bomb, even as they were threatening to nuke Israel.

Democrat Bill Clinton significantly eased sanctions in 2000. Barack Obama is the primary U.S. president to significantly ease sanctions on Iran, doing so through the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which unfroze approximately $100 billion in assets and removed oil export sanctions.

Then Donald Trump ended the foolish JPCOA in 2018, only to have the weak and feckless Biden capitulate again, by turning a blind eye to a uranium enrichment program that Iran buried and hid several hundred feet underground, and also allowing them to freely sell oil on the world market.

So Iran essentially knew that all they needed to do was wait out the tough times when Republicans were in, and go back to cheating, exporting terrorism, and becoming stronger when Democrats were in. This sad sick teeter-totter ride always left Iran strong enough to fund global anti-U.S. terrorism, the rise of ISIS, Al Qaeda, Hamas, Hezbollah, etc., and mass killings of American soldiers as in the Khobar Towers and U.S.S. Cole attacks.

Donald Trump is finally engaging in an action to end this insane and costly 47 year cycle. Democrat Kamala Harris has already voiced her extreme opposition to this, so we can be sure Iran would still be on the path to a nuclear bomb had she been elected. Elections do matter.

And of course, we have the usual Liberal Left Democrats here also opposing Trump, and everything he does.

Notice them whining about past failures when we engaged in attempts at Regime Change. And notice that they never tell you the truth about why past efforts at Regime change went so badly.

The majority of Democrats in Congress pretended to be in favor of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, but then they worked to undermine Bush and the military. They couldn't stand the idea of Bush having a victory.

It was Democrat Barack Hussein Obama who ignored the advice from his military and rushed to pull all U.S. Troops out of Iraq, leaving a huge power vacuum to be filled by anti-U.S. Islamic terrorists.

And it was Democrat Joe Biden and his puppeteers who rushed the departure from Afghanistan, again against the advice of the Military, and leaving not only a power vacuum for the Taliban to fill, but also billions of dollars of U.S. weapons and equipment to be used against us. He even abandoned Baghram Air Base, which had huge strategic importance

Given half a chance, Democrats would screw this Iran action up too. Had Trump involved them in planning, it's almost certain some Democrats would have tipped off Iran's leaders, allowing them to escape and to hide weapons.

Biden and the Democrats even weakened the U.S. by draining our Strategic Oil Reserve, in order to artificially lower the fuel prices they increased, and help Democrats win in the mid-term election. They tried turning our Military into a Woke Joke of Transgenders and perverts that no adversary could take seriously.

Also notice that these same TDS Democrat supporters of anti-gun Democrats never had any problem with Biden's weakness enticing Putin to invade the Ukraine, or with Biden spending hundreds of billions of dollars to fund a Ukraine-Russia war that was going very badly.

And don't forget that several of these whiners frequently complain that political Threads drive folks away from this forum, yet here they are engaging in their usual Trump bashing and political commentary. They hate Trump, and they are no friend to those who cherish Gun Rights. The biggest phonies and hypocrites on the Internet!

Prayers for our Servicemen, and prayers for President Trump to have the strength and wisdom to finish this, and end another war.
