![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/51/52/iuuzTBWO_t.jpg) Interesting a tool is stamped w/ the Sauer Wildmann along w/ >>REV M79<< and I would hazard a guess the number >>31419<< is the serial number??? Too, the >>M79<< could easily be for Modell 1879? >>31419<< would date to 1886/1887..... Hochachtungsvoll, , Raimey rse

You headed this thread “perkussion” so I thought I was looking a a pair of muzzleloaders until I started to puzzle over the decapping tool and finally focused on the underlevers.
Surely the better description would be “hammer pistols”?
Beautiful pistols, with actions reminiscent of good quality Rook rifles of the same era.

Gotcha ya, didn't I. Indeed, indeed the term >>Perkussion<< is not a true mate but with the pistols being so unique & rare for the maker, they warrant a term that is not ordinary or mundane. And it makes it much easier for searching for the thread down the road. To round out the need, the only other item a collector would need would be a Sauer Bicycle..... That is if one has a marked propensity for things Sauer??? And there is a nice brace of cased Greener Howdah's that may need to be posted up-top?? https://simpsonltd.com/products/M11457Hochachtungsvoll, , Raimey rse

Neat swivel ramrods, reminiscent of 16 bore cavalry Officer’s pistols but with an added feature to slide across to each barrel.
The vendor does not mention the calibre. If they were carbine bore (.65 or 16 bore) I wonder if they were intended as an Officer’s holster pistols.

That Berdan de and recapper in the first case poses interesting questions. If you miss on the 1st shot can you reload the brass before your opponent does?

"REV M79" declares chambering for the 10.6mm cartridge of the Revolver Modell 1879, populary called the Reichsrevolver. This load is quite similar to the .44 Smith & Wesson Russian.
Cheers, Jani
