Thankyou Ted, I do appreciate all the help.
Thankyou Karl, it was a great way to end a surprisingly nice February day,
and ultimately a very big thankyou to Harry for allowing me to re-home this lovely old gun. The stories these artifacts could tell, eh?
While Blissett might not have been known as one of London's "best gun" makers, his products seem to have been very artfully executed. Our own Joe Wood here once told me (down at Whittington) that the 1870s were the period of the English gunmaking that he thought produced some of their finest examples.
After a (finally!) thorough examination of this particular weapon, I am in total agreement with his assessment of the subject.
