Talked to his wife a couple of days ago. Doing better each day. I hope he might be up for a quick call this week. Hope so. Long road.

My message from Steve. I think he would like the community to know that he is home.
I am going to let him get some quiet time recovering at home.
Patti and I are keeping Steve in our prayers for a trouble free recovery.

From Steve.

Joe;

Thank you for your email. It only by the Grace of God that I am alive as after my heart surgery (which is fine) my body began all sort of thing wrong starting with blood clots in lungs, kidney failure, pneumonia and others. I was in hospital for 2 months and 3 days with 6 weeks of that unconscious. I came around at the 1st of Jan 2026. I have home for about 3 weeks wheel chair bound relearning to walk, swallow and speak. I am just skin and bones of what I was.

This email is the 3rd one I have written since 17th of November 2025 as I was certain that you must think the worse--I have wanting to contact for weeks but was too weak to go my computer. Learning to stand up and walk has been going on since the 2 of Jan 2026 and I am able to take some steps without the aid of my "walker". I think it will be all of this year before I am just about recovered. I am just now being able to eat solid food.

When my wife (of 60 years) Yvonne brought me home, my spaniel did not recognize me.

Sincerely your friend and with God's love;

Steve
