I’m a life sponsor for RGS.
First thing, I want to commend you on your effort to produce such delightful posters for your banquet offerings.
But I have to ask, who exactly comes to your banquet? And how big is it?
I go to many banquets and events per year, and I just don’t see much interest in the vintage stuff. Heck, I was donating cases of RST’s when nobody could get any shotgun shells, and the winners didn’t even know what they were.
As a fundraiser, will those shotguns bring anything close to their market values?
Out there doing it best I can.

Are they auctions, raffled off, or sold out right?

First thing, I want to commend you on your effort to produce such delightful posters for your banquet offerings. Thanks! But I have to ask, who exactly comes to your banquet? And how big is it? We had 183 last year. Our attendees are pretty varied. Some will want these guns, some would rather have a Benelli... I go to many banquets and events per year, and I just don’t see much interest in the vintage stuff. Heck, I was donating cases of RST’s when nobody could get any shotgun shells, and the winners didn’t even know what they were. We'll find out how they work. Cant grow without change, can't cange without trying new things. As a fundraiser, will those shotguns bring anything close to their market values? Fair question. Market value isn't important, doubling what we have in the guns is the minimum goal. That works out well for everyone - the person who gets the gun is happy, and so are we.

Are they auctions, raffled off, or sold out right? Some of each, except none are sold outright. The Webley & Scott is going live auction with that White Diamond O/U. The Uggie, one of the AyAs, and the Bland are going on a six gun raffle: 40 $20 tickets then we call the winner. The Dougall is going on a 100 number board. It is a genuinely nice gun and we got it cheap. The rest will be on silent auctions with starting bids about 1/2 the value I was able to research...all of which is well over what we have in the guns. If they don't sell, we'll use them as prize guns at other events where the return is at least 2X what we have in them. The best of the bunch is the C. G. Edwards. It’s a wand...even with the 30" barrels. I was tempted to keep it...

Nice. What I'm wondering, after reading the above is, how do you acquire them that cheaply? If I'm understanding correctly, you would have had to buy some of those at no more than $400 each.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

Years ago, I was on the board for Pheasants Forever county chapter. i so badly wanted to do this, but could never convince anyone else to give it a try. We had a very large banquet.I think it was the biggest banquet of any chapter in the society most years. But I just could not generate the interest amongst the other board members. Nonetheless, we raised a ton of money and bought a lot of land.
Congrats on putting this together. That is a lot of work, and it is done very well. I hope you rake in a great profit.

Excellent work on all the posters! I especially like the Army and Navy CS&L boxlocks. Hope to own one someday. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

You men can buy all the tickets you can afford if you contact Geoff. RGS doesn’t discriminate on raffles.
Out there doing it best I can.
