What does it mean, Cylinder, Skeet or IC?

Improved Modified. That's an IM.

That makes sense, weak stamping. So it would appear a previous owner had the choke relieved at some point which is just fine with me as I found wide open and full a good combination in the field for what I do. Thanks.

I have seen two of these in Alaska, one I own, another owned by a friend. These are 20 ga, with 3" chambers. DT and very nice for the value.

I also have handled a Miroku 500 sxs 12 ga of the same build, but marked differently. I believe it had 2-3/4" Chambers. The 12 ga was very used and I don't remember the proof marks. It may have been a little loose at the hinge.
We shoot all 2-3/4" in these 20 ga guns, by preference. They are light weight.
We have also handled at least one Miroku O/U made in the same period (1960).
People shoot whatever they want in these...
