I very much agree, Bob. I am so glad I sent it to Mark instead of tackling the job myself. His artistic eye and abilities are evident here.
I think it will look better with a dark brown pigskin leather covered pad, rather than a black one, now. When I was sort of expecting to see a black inlay I was leaning towards a black pad, but I now think dark brown would complement the inlay, and the wood, better.
A recoil pad isn't necessary for recoil reduction, obviously, on a .410. But, I need an extra 1/2" to 5/8" LOP, and I'm tiring of using the Kick Killer lace-on on this gun. It works, but the wood is just too nice to cover up.
