I looked at your suggested rifle however I found 4 things that would turn me off to trying to purchase it for what I have in mind for my project. First is it's bolt handle is of what I call the carbine style, which is bent down and forward and then flattened off. This is not as appealing as the regular rifle bolt handle. Second it is missing a magazine. Yes I know magazines are available (reproductions) but find a vintage one of the correct model would be difficult and could be expensive. Like finding dust covers only many more variations I fear. Third, the rifle I have was originally equipped with the volley peep sight and where it was on the gun is where I intend to affix my peep sight I am designing. The Cabelas rifle is like the Lee-Speed which do not have that feature. And last the "ridiculous offer" I would make would probably cause them to die from laughing so I don't want blood on my hands.
