Nobody posting here has used that term in almost 20 years. Hell, the first three pages feature a cast of characters that haven’t been seen in a long time, sadly.

Ammunition will be easier to source in Europe for that gun, easier than my neighborhood, anyway. I would think it would be a great little gun to pursue European woodcock with on a fall day.

Ted, the term Funeral Model is used here as the post heading. A search of google, Guns International, and gunbroker seem to show that only sellers use that term. That was the point. One can see all black receivers from Purdey to Baker to Tobin. No hint of Funeral.

I know what they are talking about when I hear the term.

I don’t call anything funeral, except a funeral.

I have more info on Roger Picot now. When he was decorated in 1936, he belonged to the "gunsmithing class" as graveur-ciseleur, and he still worked in 1980, see here:

Time to update the term to “murdered out”
Forget the funeral. 😏

Murdered out:
Popular automotive styling trend where a vehicle is customized to be completely Black.
