OP Canvasback13 Boxlock Joined: Oct 2023 Posts: 29 Likes: 24	Anyone know if there are issue lengthening the chamber or forcing cones from 2 .5 to 2 3/4 on a AH Fox 16. Ai says it’s easily done by a competent gunsmith, but trust opinions here more. I am shooter. Residual value is irrelevant to me. Last edited by Canvasback13; 01/20/26 07:10 PM.

ed good Sidelock Joined: Jan 2002 Posts: 10,276 Likes: 151 nh mostly	should be ok... so long as there is around .090 of barrel wall left in front of chambers... have seen quite a few 16 ga fox guns with 2 3/4 chambers... never seen one that measured too thin for safe shooting with one ounce field loads... keep it simple and keep it safe...

My advice would be to have it done by a very knowledgeable barrel man and tell him to lengthen them only if the remaining barrel wall thickness will be safe. I had no reservations about my barrel man being able to make that decision knowledgeably. May God bless America and those who defend her.
