A friend gave me several of those heavy card board barrels with the locking rings for the lids and I use one or two of them for this purpose. I store them in my metal barn out back. I use the same barrels for luggage I dont use but want to keep. I have two full of Orvis and Battenkill pieces a couple of leather suitcases and Gladstone bags. ( You may have guessed that I am somewhat of a luggage nut) They stay dry and no mouse has yet chewed through the heavy barrels to reach the contents.

When you own 200-300 long guns and want to move, that's when you will be sorry you only kept ten or twelve soft cases.

There is truth in that no doubt. But I only own a few multiples of a dozen. Not a few multiples of a hundred.

I only have about a dozen, Brent, but this is how I’ve organized them for access.
Now there's a great idea! 👍

Less is often more, I'm at under a dozen, every one of them is something special. They mostly rifles with a couple shotguns thrown into the mix. Truth be told, unless I'm climbing mountains after Blues, I just shot my Holland.
