I was able to snatch a 1953 Waffen Frankonia -Würzburg retailed Dreiling in 7X57R - 16/70 - 16/70 w/ 60 cm tubes by Jakob Koschat. It sports a nice Swarovski Optik Habicht Nova 2,2 - 9 X 42 Scope atop with EAW(Ernst Apel in Würzburg) Schwenkmontage¿¿¿¿¿

Remember even in the British Period in Ferlach & after up into the mid 1950s, retailers were looking everywhere for mechanics to fill their orders. Russian Hunters had not taken afield from the late 1930s till 1945 and Suhl was trying to fill their orders, along w/ reparations. That left Ferlach mechanics to churn out as many as they could.

Raimey,
This looks very much like my Franz Sodia 8x57IRS- 16-70/16-70 Drilling, which also has 60 cm barrels. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine. The scope was remounted from another gun but is a very good "make". I suggest you try it with 11.2-gram bullets first, it may already be sighted in.

Yeah, I hope to give a few 11,2 gramme bullets a whirl soon...... Even though they are S&B. You know, may have some GECO or similar stuck back, then again it may be PPU in a 9 gramme loading?

I agree, it could be sighted for most any bullet. My guess was based on seeing more sighted for 11.2-gram bullets than 9-gram ones. It may boil down to the personal preference of a previous owner that neither of us knew.
