Good to see there is still a few wild Bobs holding out in IL, JB. And, good to hear from you again!

Took the dogs to Nebraska for a quick hunt, didn't see many but put a rooster in the bag with Trudy. She is turning out to be the best gift I ever received.

Had an exciting woodcock hunt to start the year. The bedraggled bird in the middle fell on a steep riverbank, dog went in retrieving it, had to be boosted up the bank by me, then I had to fish bird out of river with a forked stick, thought I was going in with it for a couple minutes. Gun is a 16 gauge H & TC Godfrey which I obtained from Kirby Hoyt a couple of years ago.

Sounds like a real adventure! Thanks for sharing the picture and the story.

Hey all, well, today was the last day of our upland bird season.  It was a good one, not great, but good.


This last month we had some goofy weather. Freezing rain, high winds, snow and drifting snow and temps from 50 to below zero (sometimes fron day to day).  Seems we had a new system ever week.  


Bird numbers were about the same as last year.  Hope they'll be better next season.


I myself was out for about a month, went out for a hunt, slipped on a patch of ice and cracked a rib! Today I  did get out.  It was a beautiful day. Birds were wild as all get out!  Addie did manage to pin one down, so I did get one last bird


Addie is turning into an excellent bird. Very happy with her!
 

Anyway, thank you Lord and St Hubert for a good season!
 

Used my 16ga Ugartechea today
