a remington 32 is a superb gun. only the great depression and the beginning of ww2 killed it.
john browning beat remington by 2 months with the patent for an o&u shotgun design.
the superposed browning beat the 32 for the honors.
hal dupont took the expired remington 32 pat to germany and had mr. krieghoff improve it.
and behold, the krieghoff model 32 was born in 1955.
better trigger. better safety. better hammers....things like that. matter of fact, the first 500 krieghoffs were made with surplus remington 32 parts.
then krieghoff started making his own for the design.
remington realized its mistake by curbing the 32....so they came up with a different first to get back in the shotgun race with the 3200 in 1973. it was the 1st shotgun totally designed by computer.
47,000+ were made but costs killed it. away it went in 81, when remington read the writing on the wall when krieghoff introduced the K80 in 1980.
remington hoisted the red flag.
they tried a come back in the 90's with the 'premier,' but it failed to catch the eye of serious shooters.
fyi, the rem 32 easily can rub elbows with the best krieghoffs out there today.
