Because, everybody already knows that they really are pieces of shit.

If you ask Facebook about those doubles you’ll get another good example of where information isn’t.

This specifically is what makes this site so great. It is the back and forth debates about the relative merits that really reveal the whole truth about any gun (or subject) that comes up.

I love it. All of it, with the exception of the bedwetters that have a problem with a post about this or that and cry all over their keyboards.

Years ago, one of my favorite bars had the waitresses jump up on the tables and do a choreographed dance twice a night. They wore short skirts and cowboy boots, which, was going to leave a few of them on the sidelines. One night, a dude at the bar asked the owner to stop having the girls do that. Owner told him he should buy the place, and he could do whatever he wanted, but, right now, he should get the F out.

My sentiments exactly, at the bar, and, here.

Best,
Ted

‘Course, if Lonny sobers up we will have to hear about the hockey game, Honda Cubs, and Adak, but, it is a small price to pay for this board.

Good things there's none of those here.

You know what I enjoy? The bewdwetters and crybabies who can't take criticism about their behavior. It's so easy to yank their chains and send them off on what will often be multi-day attempts to justify their ridiculous, childish behavior.

You know, I won a new Franchi O/U at a RGS banquet a few decades ago. While waiting for the FFL to finish with the bloke who won a gun before me, I handed it back to the dude who pulled my name out of a hat. I told him try to find three stooges to cough up $100 for a 33% chance of winning a new gun. He thought I was being magnanimous, and had $300 for that chance in no time.

Truthfully, I really just thought while handling it, that it was a piece of shit.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t say stooges. But, I thought it.
Excuse me. But everybody DOESN'T already know that 21s are pieces of "s--t." And I used to speak with Russ Ruppel almost daily on here and I don't ever remember him calling a Winchester Model 21 "a piece of s--t." You'd have to show me where he ever said that. He might have said that they were overbuilt or he didn't like them, but I don't remember him calling them that as much as you say. Pete Hyatt would get on me and call the 21s, "boat anchors" back then. And we would always argue about Model 21s. But Russ? I don't think so. I believe you have the wrong people and the wrong guns. It came to mind when I looked back at Russ's last post called Russ Ruppel update. On page 3 at the top- Pete Hyatt brought up the fact about Russ running down Ithacas. And I remembered it was Ithacas that Russ would bad-mouth so much and how ugly they were. Not Model 21s or Superposed. You will have to show me where he said such things about Superposed and Model 21s. The older guys will remember how he hated Ithacas and constantly ran them down. But 21s and Superposed? Back in 2000 and just after, the Superposed was a hot item and everyone was buying them. I don't ever remember back then that people on here were running them down like that. In fact people on here were talking them up so much back then, I ended up buying 4 or 5 of them. And I never had any rib problems. Russ was a bona fide LC Smith collector. But you'd have to show me Russ said all of that. And put a Superposed, a 21 and an Elsie out on the table today, and I can pretty much guarantee you the LC will be the last one picked. That's how Russ got the nickname -Clunkermeister if I remember. Because his guns were clunkers. And you probably would chose an LC Smith over a 21 or a Superposed of the same grade. That wouldn't surprise anyone who knows you. Good luck.

That'd be fine.

The ranting back and forth about politics that never has, and never will, change a single mind makes this site a no-go for a lot of people.

Particularly when the politics erupts on a post that has nothing at all to do with the original subject, like on this topic.

Pretty tough to get around the fact that guns are the lightening rod of politics. The subjects cross at various junctions whether we like it or not. The owner lets those discussions go on for a bit, and if it gets too rancorous the plug gets pulled. If somebody literally doesn’t go to a hobby site on the internet that Albert Gore Jr. invented because they might hear something about politics or, an unrelated subject (*) I’m guessing that is their prerogative, and, likely, their loss.

So be it. There are sites that they will be much happier at. Never figured everybody would like that bar that I love, either.

Best,
Ted

You can make excuses for all the poor behavior you like...all it does is provide support for the fact that criticizing that poor behavior is just as valid here as the poor behavior itself.

Keep up the good work!

No, it's spot on, but that's okay. Denial suits you.

Troll on!
