My mind continues to spin, somewhat out of control. Each night I list the guns I am willing to sell and the new ones I want. So I found a used MX28, but the stock isn't right. I asked Giacomo if I could swap the stock on my MX410 onto the MX 28, as I believe the actions are the same size. I would only do this if I decided to sell the 410. Waiting on the answer. You can call the men in white coats for me now.

Oh-boy what a loaded question-- there's a whole bunch more to proper stock fit than simply swapping stocks even if the actions are the same. I'll bet there will be several here who will tell you it can be done or that it can't. All of them could be right or they could be wrong because they don't have the gun and wood in their hands or possibly the knowledge for making sure of proper fit in the critical areas like recoil lug abutment and so-on.
My take if you really want the gun is you just need to find the right page in your (book of gun buying justifications) and then proceed from there. Whatever you do--Never let your wife see or know that book even exists.

before one had the option to change wood, one modified wood, either temporarily and then permanetly...when one had no other option, one changed ones shooting style to fit the gun... amazing what can be accomplished by using a basketball knee pad to raise drop and a slip on pad to lengthen pull...then there is boring out the stock or adding lead to change balance..and of course, where you place your forward hand on the forend can make a gun shoot right where you point it...
keep it simple and keep it safe...
