The hammer looks to be a cocking device on the long gun I posted but in Raimey's link the Beatus Beringer pistols it seems to have a striking pin for a percussion cap or primer but can''t see how it would detonate a primer. It would be interesting to load the hexagon bullet into the chamber and and fire round from the pistol that FAb500 posted.
